ARCTIC LNG CARRIER EDUARD TOLL
Teekay advised that Teekay LNG Partners‘ first icebreaker LNG newbuilding, Eduard Toll, was launched on Saturday January 21. The vessel is Teekay’s first of six 172,000 cubic meter ARC7 LNG carrier newbuildings to be constructed for the Yamal LNG project. The construction of Eduard Toll began earlier last year at the DSME shipyard in South Korea. Eduard Toll designed to perform year-round navigation through the Arctic will be capable of sailing through ice up to 2.1 m thick. The vessel is named after Eduard Gustav von Toll, Russian geologist and Arctic explorer.
Based in Bermuda,Teekay has four lines of business: offshore logistics (shuttle tankers, the HiLoad DP unit, floating storage and off-take (FSO) units, units for maintenance and safety (UMS), and long-distance towing and offshore installation vessels), offshore production (floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units), liquefied gas carriers and conventional tankers.
