LNG-FUELLED CONTAINERSHIP CMA CGM RIVOLI NAMED AT CSSC SHIPYRAD IN CHINA
CMA CGM officially named a new LNG-fuelled containership, CMA CGM Rivoli at China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) in China. The ship is also the third in the series to be built by CSSC’s Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
Once completed, the 23,000 TEU vessel will have a length of 400 metres, a beam of 61 metres, and a fuel tank with capacity for 18,600 cubic metres of LNG.
In 2017, the company announced his decision to order a series of nine 23,000-TEU containerships that would be the world’s first ever to be powered by liquefied natural gas.
Jacques Saadé was the first LNG powered container ship to join the CMA CGM fleet. The vessel was launched I September 2019.
CMA CGM Champs Elysées, delivered in 2020, was the company’s second LNG-powered unit was deoilvered in October 2020 by CSSC at its Hudong Zhonghua shipyard.
