PIRIOU VIETNAM SHIPYARD DELIVERS PERSEVERANCE TO THE EXPLORER JEAN-LOUIS ETIENNE
Piriou shipyard in Vietnam recently delivered the sailboat Perseverance to the French explorer Jean-Louis Etienne as part of Polar POD Expedition. A ship for adventure and for science.
Resulting from a collaboration with Olivier Petit, the architect of Antarctica (now Tara), Persévérance is an offshore supply ship sailing in the polar waters of Antarctica, intended to take over the crew and equipment from the Polar Pod, the future drifting oceanographic station imagined by Jean-Louis Etienne.
Resulting from a collaboration with Olivier Petit, the architect of Antarctica (now Tara), Perseverance is a solid 40-meter aluminum schooner that will be able to sail all year round in Antarctica and ensure that its light boats can be launched in all weathers thanks to its launch ramp integrated into the transom.
The sailboat is eco-designed to reduce environmental impact, Perseverance offers ethical travel committed to the preservation of ecosystems.
According to the Piriou Group, while awaiting the departure of the expedition, Perseverance will welcome passengers for cruises of exploration in the icy waters of the Arctic, in the archipelago of Svalbard, then Antarctica.
